But life has a funny way of throwing curveballs at you. As a medical assistant, I felt unappreciated, undervalued, and underpaid. Every day, I left work feeling unhappy and unfulfilled. That’s when I decided to shake things up once again. I shifted gears and worked in the banking industry, specifically dealing with credit cards, for a couple of years. But deep down, I knew I was meant for something more.
During the chaos of the pandemic, I found the courage to pursue a new path-I became a real estate agent. Graduating as a real estate agent during those challenging times was far from easy. Many sellers were understandably hesitant to allow buyers into their homes, fearing for their health. But I pushed through, determined to create a better future for myself.
You know, no matter which 9-5 job I held, I always felt like just another faceless employee. I longed to be seen as an individual, valued for my hard work and dedication. That’s when I took a leap of faith and stepped out of my comfort zone. And you know what? It paid off. I finally found a place where my efforts are appreciated, where I’m viewed as a business partner rather than a number. I gained invaluable skills that I never had the chance to develop in my previous positions.
Now, my goal is to keep pushing myself in every possible way. I refuse to settle for a stagnant mindset. By this fall, I’m determined to open my very own office. I want to run a thriving business, but more importantly, I want to pave the way for others to follow. I want them to have the same opportunities I’ve had, to break free from their own generational curses.
We all have the power to shape our destinies and create a better future. So, let’s rise together, supporting and encouraging one another along the way. The standards I’ve set for myself will only continue to rise, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. Remember, with determination and a willingness to step outside our comfort zones, we can achieve incredible things. Together, let’s break those generational curses and create a brighter future for ourselves and those who come after us.
